Corporal Arthur Briggs, son of Mrs Briggs, 81, Peel Street, Clitheroe, has had 17 years' service with the 2nd Royal Norfolk Regiment. He is now in France. Before joining the Army, he was with Mr. J.H. Ramsbottom solicitors. In a recent letter to his mother, Corporal Briggs expressed joy at receiving all the news from home through the medium of the 'Advertiser and Times'. A photograph is attached to the article but regretably is not good enough quality to place here as with so many which we would like to show. Promoted to Quartermaster Sergeant after the article of 23rd February 1940.
